CFR CALIBRATION FACILITY
The Calibration Facility is meant for calibration of Pyranometers by comparison to a reference Pyranometer.
As such it offers a solution for quality control of the stability of the Pyranometers that are used in the network of the user. The procedure that is described complies with the annex A.3 of the international standard ISO 9847 "Calibration of Field Pyranometers by Comparison to a Reference Pyranometer" The annex A.3 is called "Calibration devices using artificial sources".
The facility is manually operated. The time needed for each calibration will be approximately 10 minutes. Preparation of a measurement session will take 30 minutes.
The optional reference pyranometer that is supplied with the facility can be a Kipp & Zonen CM 11b Pyranometer. The accuracy with which other CM 11b's can be calibrated is estimated to be ± 1%. Accuracy of calibration of other types of Pyranometers is lower. As an indication ± 2% can be given.
